Superb news!! Opening of a new government hospital building and dental clinic building etc at Tambaram!!
It was earlier announced by the health minister of TN Mr. M. Subramanian that as many as 19 govt hospitals or GH including those located in places like Jayamkondan, Tambaram and Palani etc would be upgraded to government district headquarters hospital under the scheme. It must be noted that the hospitals would be upgraded to provide high quality medical services to the public in 24 districts in TN that do not have government district headquarters hospitals..
Accordingly, it was planned to upgrade Tambaram govt hospital to Chengalpet district headquarters hospital and construct a new hospital near the Tambaram Sanatorium bus stand at a cost of Rs 115.38 crores.
It is learnt that the construction work has been completed and the work of installing medical equipment at a cost of Rs 5.38cr is underway now.
Salient features of the new hospital:
The new hospital at Tambaram has been built on 6 floors and has an area of 227320 sqft with 400 beds, 6 operation theatres and 40 ICU beds etc. There are also units for emergency care, neonatal care, child welfare, diabetic treatment etc ar this new hospital in Tambaram.
It must be noted that at Chromepet based old government hospital complex a dental clinic and an integrated laboratory has been set up at a cost of Rs 7.10 cr.
On 9th of August, the CM of Tamil Nadu would be opening these 3 medical buildings for the sake of the residents of Chennai.
The newly constructed district headquarters hospital on the GST Road in Tambaram was inspected by the PWD minister Mr. E.V. Velu and Mr.T. M. Anbarasan, MSME minister on tuesday, 5th August.. He confirmed the inauguration of the new govt hospital building at Tambaram by the CM of Tamil Nadu on 9th August.
