891 Special Buses to Operate from Chennai for Christmas Festival Travel
Ahead of Christmas Day (December 25), the State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) has announced the operation of additional special buses along with regular services to manage the festive travel rush.
Special Buses from Chennai Kilambakkam
From Kilambakkam Bus Terminus, special buses will be operated to major destinations including Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur.
- December 23 (Tuesday): 255 special buses
- December 24 (Wednesday): 525 special buses
Special Buses from Chennai CMBT & Madhavaram
From Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), special buses will operate to Tiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru.
- CMBT: 91 special buses on December 23 & 24
- Madhavaram: 20 special buses on December 23 & 24
Total Special Buses Planned: 891
Return Services After Holidays
To facilitate smooth return travel after the Christmas holidays, SETC has also planned to operate special buses on Sunday, December 28, from all major towns to Chennai and Bengaluru, based on passenger demand.
These arrangements aim to ensure safe, comfortable, and hassle-free travel for passengers during the festive season.
