On May 12, Madurai Airport topped the charts at a blazing 41.0°C, making it the hottest location in the state. Other hot spots included Karur (40.5°C), Erode (40.4°C), and Trichy Airport (39.9°C).
Chennai Airport (Meenambakkam) recorded 39.4°C, while Chennai City (Nungambakkam) saw 39.0°C. Today, there`s a high chance for Meenambakkam to cross the 40°C mark for the first time this year.
Interestingly, Vellore, which saw rains the previous day and didn’t make it to the list, is expected to bounce back today in the temperature race.
