Chennai Metro Trains to Get Live Route Guidance Screens
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced the installation of LED-backlit LCD route guidance screens in all 52 Phase-1 Chennai Metro trains, aimed at improving passenger convenience and travel experience.
The new digital screens will display real-time route updates, upcoming stations, nearby landmarks, train speed, and coach temperature. They will also guide passengers on platform changes, interchange stations, and connecting services, helping commuters plan their journeys more efficiently.
CMRL officials said the system will be especially useful during peak hours, enabling smoother passenger movement and reducing confusion inside crowded coaches. The upgrade is part of Chennai Metro’s ongoing efforts to enhance smart, commuter-friendly public transport across the city.
