Chennai Monsoon 2025: Relief Measures and Updates from CMC

The Chennai Municipal Corporation (CMC) is actively managing the Northeast Monsoon 2025, ensuring public safety and flood relief. From 17–29 October, the city received an average rainfall of 267.80 mm, with Ennore recording the highest at 18 mm.
- 215 relief centers operational; 127 people accommodated so far.
- Food services: 111 kitchens served 582,050 meals between 22–28 October.
- Medical camps: 844 camps treated 36,353 people.
- Flood & rescue preparedness: 103 boats, 1,496 motor pumps, and 478 vehicles ready.
- Drainage & tree management ongoing; 62 fallen trees cleared.
CMC continues 24/7 monitoring via 1913 helpline to ensure smooth drainage, safe transport, and timely emergency response.
