Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Moderate Rain Likely from December 29 to January 1
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate rainfall across many parts of Tamil Nadu from December 29 to January 1 due to variations in easterly wind patterns.
According to the IMD, dry weather will prevail on December 27 and 28 across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. During this period, light mist or fog may occur in isolated locations during early morning hours.
Cold and Frost Alert
The weather department has also warned of possible frost conditions in the Nilgiris district and Kodaikanal hill regions, especially during early morning hours, due to lower temperatures.

- Moderate rain likely at several places across Tamil Nadu
- Puducherry and Karaikal may also receive moderate rainfall
Chennai and suburban areas:
- Partly cloudy skies
- Light mist expected in the early morning
Fishermen Advisory
For December 27, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along:
- South Tamil Nadu coastal areas
- Gulf of Mannar
- Kumari Sea
Strong winds with speeds reaching up to 65 kmph are expected, making sea conditions rough.
