14 Indigo Flights Cancelled in Chennai Today as Airline Disruptions Continue for 9th Consecutive Day
Flight operations of Indigo continue to face severe disruption for the ninth consecutive day, with 14 flights cancelled from Chennai alone today, causing major inconvenience to passengers.
The cancellations come amid acute pilot shortages and operational mismanagement, due to which the airline has been forced to cancel services continuously for over a week. The situation has triggered widespread criticism from political parties, especially over the Central government’s new aviation rules.
However, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has firmly stated that Indigo Airline is solely responsible for the current crisis, dismissing the allegations against the government. He further revealed that due to serious operational failures, Indigo has been instructed to reduce 10% of its flight services in the winter schedule.

With international and domestic routes affected, hundreds of passengers were left stranded, leading to long delays, rescheduling issues, and refund requests at Chennai Airport.
