The special voter enrollment and correction camp is being held today and tomorrow across Tamil Nadu, giving citizens another opportunity to add or rectify their names in the electoral roll.
Draft Voter List Update
After the completion of SIR (Special Intensive Revision) works, the draft voter list was released on December 19. As part of this revision:
- Over 97 lakh voters were removed from the list
- Around 66 lakh names were marked as voters who had shifted residence
These voters have been given one month’s time to reapply, with January 18 set as the final deadline.
Special Camp Details
According to Archana Patnaik, the Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu, a four-day special camp has been arranged for voter enrollment and corrections.
First phase: Last Saturday and Sunday
Second phase: Today and tomorrow
