Daily Poojas Timing at Ashtalakshmi Temple, Besant Nagar
The famous Ashtalakshmi Temple, located along the scenic Elliot’s Beach in Besant Nagar, Chennai, is dedicated to Lord Mahavishnu with Mother Mahalakshmi in her eight divine forms (Ashtalakshmi) - representing prosperity, courage, wealth, knowledge, victory, progeny, nourishment, and abundance. The temple, around 500 years old in spiritual tradition, is a major center of worship, especially during Navarathri (September-October) and the annual festival in March-April.
Built near the Bay of Bengal, the temple also houses shrines for Sri Ganesh, Sri Hanuman, Sri Guruvayurappa, and Sri Mahavishnu, and is admired for its modern architecture and sculptures. Devotees visiting the temple are also treated to a panoramic sea view from the upper levels.
