Chennai Traffic Diversion at Thirumangalam for Metro Phase II Work from July 14, 2026 to July 12, 2027

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police have announced a year-long traffic diversion at Thirumangalam from July 14, 2026, to July 12, 2027, to facilitate the construction of the elevated corridor under Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) Phase II – Corridor 5.

As part of the traffic management plan, the left-side service road along the 100-Feet Road at Thirumangalam will remain completely closed to all vehicular traffic throughout the construction period.

Traffic Diversion Details

Vehicles travelling from Padi Flyover towards Ambattur should use 18th Main Road or 6th Avenue, then proceed via 13th Main Road, 2nd Avenue, the 100-Feet Road service road, and finally Ambattur Estate Road to reach their destination.

Vehicles travelling from Padi Flyover towards Koyambedu can continue to use the Thirumangalam Flyover without any changes to the existing traffic arrangement.

The Chennai Traffic Police have urged motorists and local residents to follow the revised traffic regulations and cooperate with officials to ensure smooth traffic flow and support the timely completion of the Chennai Metro Phase II project.
