IndiGo Flight Services Disrupted for Seventh Consecutive Day; 71 Flights Cancelled in Chennai Today
Chennai witnessed major air travel disruption today as 71 IndiGo flights were cancelled, marking the seventh consecutive day of service impact across India. According to official sources, the cancellations include 38 departures and 33 arrivals, citing administrative reasons.
The airline, operated by IndiGo, has been facing widespread operational challenges over the past week. In the last six days alone, more than 5,000 IndiGo flights were cancelled nationwide, severely affecting passenger movement across major airports.
Over 8 Lakh Passengers Affected Across India
Due to continuous cancellations, around 8 lakh passengers have been impacted across the country, facing last-minute delays, rescheduling issues, and travel uncertainty. On Sunday alone, nearly 650 IndiGo flights were grounded across India, adding to the growing disruption.
Chennai Passengers Face Continued Hardship
At Chennai International Airport, today’s cancellations have once again caused chaos among travelers. Many passengers reported:
- Long delays in rebooking
- Limited alternative flight options
- Increased ticket prices on other airlines
With no clear timeline on full restoration, passengers are being advised to check flight status before reaching the airport.
