MTC Launches AC Electric Buses on Chennai Airport–Siruseri Route
To enhance passenger convenience, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has introduced air-conditioned electric buses on the Chennai Airport–Siruseri route.
Since April 25, MTC has been operating city bus services from Chennai Airport on two routes Airport–Kilambakkam Bus Terminus and Airport–Akkarai following persistent requests from passengers.
The newly launched service now connects Chennai Airport to Siruseri along the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR). The route covers key points including Pallavaram, Keelkattalai Junction, Echankadu, Pallikaranai Junction, Sholinganallur, Thoraipakkam, and stretches through OMR before reaching Siruseri.
According to airport officials, the fully air-conditioned electric buses will offer passengers a comfortable and eco-friendly travel option, while also helping reduce carbon emissions in the city.
