Transforming Ex-servicemen into good entrepreneurs!! Unimaginable right!! This would be happening soon in Tamil Nadu.

Ex-servicemen have contributed a lot for our nation is known. The bitter fact is that their lives are not smooth and they have financial constraints.

To improve the livelihood of these Ex-servicemen, the TN chief minister Mr. M.K. Stalin has now introduced a new scheme. At the Secretariat in Chennai, the chief minister launched a scheme named Chief Minister`s Protecting Hands. Point is that 155 Ex-servicemen have been granted permission to start business under this scheme.

It must not be forgotten that in last year`s Independence Day speech the CM of Tamil Nadu announced that a new scheme named Chief Minister`s Protecting Hands would be introduced to improve the lives and livelihood of Ex-servicemen who have joined the Army and completed their service. Now, the CM has launched the scheme to help many Ex-servicemen.

The CM handed over approval orders to 155 Ex-servicemen to start business as a token of appreciation. Under this scheme, Rs 24.43 cr would be allotted as project expenditure to 155 beneficiaries and a 30% subsidy would be provided to those who start their businesses.

To engage the Ex-servicemen in self employment and transform them into entrepreneurs, necessary funds as well as training would be provided to them. In phase 1, about 348 families of Ex-servicemen would benefit from this superb scheme. The total cost of the scheme is Rs 50.50 crores.

To scrutinise the applications received from Ex-servicemen, a working committee headed by the district collector has been formed in each district belonging to TN. It is worthy to note that based on the approval of the committee the applications would be chosen and recommended to concerned bank for approval.
