Avadi Bus Terminal Relocated for Modernization Works
The Avadi Bus Terminal has been temporarily relocated as modernization works to upgrade the existing facility into a new bus terminal have commenced.
According to a press release issued by the Joint Director of the Chennai Metropolitan Transport Corporation, the project is being carried out under the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA).
From today (September 14), the Avadi Bus Terminal will function temporarily from a vacant site located 100 meters away on M.D.H. Road, opposite the existing terminal. All buses that previously operated from the original terminal will now depart from this temporary location.
Authorities confirmed that the temporary bus terminal will remain operational until the modernization and construction works are completed. A monthly ticket sales center has also been set up at the temporary facility for commuters’ convenience.
