Chennais Major Reservoirs Reach 92.41% Water Storage Capacity

Chennai’s water supply situation remains strong as the five major reservoirs supplying drinking water to the city have reached 92.41% storage capacity. The reservoirs - Chembarambakkam, Poondi, Puzhal, Sholavaram, and Kannankottai - together have a total storage capacity of 11.757 TMC.
As of today, these reservoirs collectively hold 10.865 TMC of water, ensuring a comfortable drinking water supply for Chennai city in the coming months.
Officials say the high storage level is a result of consistent rainfall and effective reservoir management. With summer approaching, this positive water level brings major relief to Chennai residents.
