Chennai - Kochi Flight Fares Triple as Passenger Demand Surges
Flight fares on the Chennai–Kochi sector have shot up nearly threefold, following a sharp rise in passenger demand. Travellers flying from Chennai to Kochi are currently facing significantly higher ticket prices compared to regular days.
Under normal circumstances, the airfare on this route hovered around ₹3,681. However, due to heavy rush and limited seat availability, ticket prices have now surged to ₹10,500 - ₹11,500, causing concern among passengers.
Aviation industry sources attribute the steep hike to peak travel demand, limited flight capacity, and last-minute bookings, all of which have pushed prices sharply higher. Many travellers have expressed frustration over the sudden increase, especially those making urgent or unavoidable journeys.
With demand expected to remain strong in the coming days, passengers are advised to book tickets well in advance and explore alternative travel dates or routes to avoid paying premium fares.
