G Venkataraman Appointed Acting DGP of Tamil Nadu

Senior IPS officer G Venkataraman, Director General of Police (Administration), has been appointed as the acting Director General of Police and Head of Police Force, Tamil Nadu, following the retirement of Shankar Jiwal.
A day after stepping down, Jiwal was named Chairman of the newly formed Fire Commission. In another reshuffle, Vinit Dev Wankhede, DGP (Headquarters), has been posted as Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation Ltd., replacing Shailesh Kumar Yadav, who retired.
The appointments were announced through orders issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Dheeraj Kumar.
