Special Grievance Camp to Correct Ration Card Details on November 8
The Tamil Nadu Food Distribution and Consumer Protection Department has announced a special monthly Public Distribution Scheme (PDS) grievance redressal camp to help citizens correct errors and update details in their ration cards. The camp for November will be held on November 8, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the 19 Zonal Assistant Commissioner offices in Chennai.
Tamil Nadu currently has 35,083 ration shops across 39 districts, serving more than 2.25 crore family cardholders. Essential commodities such as rice (provided free), palm oil, wheat, and sugar are distributed at subsidized rates through these shops. Ration cards are also essential for availing government schemes, including women`s rights schemes and Pongal gift packages.
The upcoming camp will offer services including name corrections, address changes, adding or deleting family members, and updating mobile numbers. Senior citizens who are unable to visit fair price shops will be provided with an authorization certificate.
The department has also clarified that complaints related to PDS shops, as well as issues involving goods or services sold in the private market, can be reported at the camp for prompt action.
Family cardholders in Chennai’s 19 zonal office limits are encouraged to make use of this opportunity.
