4TH Asian Surfing Championships opening ceremony held at Mamallapuram!!

Yesterday, the opening ceremony of fourth Asian Surfing Championships or ASC took place at Mamallapuram near Chennai and it caught the attention of many.

It must be recalled that several national as well as international competitions have been taking place in the state of Tamil Nadu for the last 4 years. Information collected is that today at 6:30pm in the evening the 4th ASF 2025 (jointly organised by Asian Surfing Federation and Indian Surfing Federation) would start with bang in Mamallapuram near Chennai. From today till 12th of August, the ASC competition will be held here from 6:30am in the morning to 2pm in the afternoon.

Who all will be participating?

The sensational piece of information is that as many as 102 athletes belonging to as many as 19 Asian countries would be putting huge efforts. These countries include India, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Maldives and South Korea etc. Point is that top 4 would be awarded each with gold, silver and bronze medals.

Yesterday, Radisson Temple Bay resort located on the Kovalam Road in Mamallapuram was buzzing with activities as the 4th AS took place here. The event witnessed the presence of about 200 personalities like Indian surfing ambassador and famous cricketer Jonty Rhodes of South Africa, Chengalpet collector Sneha, Mamallapuram municipal commissioner Kavimmozhi etc.

In the year 2024, ASF took place at Thulusdhoo in Maldives. The Point is that India won the silver medal in the Maruhabha cup and in the final Japan won the precious gold medal.
