The visitors coming to the highly popular shore temple in Mahabalipuram near Chennai would be surprised now!!

The solar power is now used to illuminate this shore temple here. Information is that on Saturday, 16th September 2023, The Green India Project was officially completed and it was handed over to the Chengalpet collector Mr. AR. Rahul Nadh.

Setting up of solar control room, selfie point etc:

A solar control room with 30 KW power has been set up now and this would give power to the entire heritage site. To control the movement of the vehicles, retractable bollards are being used now.

Other important changes done at this heritage site were the installation of a RO plant with 3 kiosks to deliver 500l of water per hour plus setting up of 25 stone benches, selfie point etc. To ferry the elderly as well as the pregnant women etc in this shore temple, electric buggies are being operated here now.

It is remarkable to mention here that this Mahabalipuram shore temple is the first UNESCO declared heritage site in the entire India to get such facilities.
