Southwest Monsoon normal this year
It was initially forecasted that there will be above normal rainfall during the south west monsoon,Now it is mentioned that the Southwest Monsoon will be normal this year. South West Monsoon was delayed by a week and it commenced on 8th June.

The temperature will be higher by 3 degrees than usual till 23rd August
There was more than the usual rainfall in the Northeast monsoon last year. As a result, there was an increase in the groundwater table . Currently, southeast monsoon season is in progress. However, there has been no appreciable rains in any district over the last 2 weeks.

Chennai Metrological Centre official has mentioned: In the next 24 hours, there will be rains or thundershowers in few places of Tamil Nadu due to convection. As far as Chennai is concerned the sky will be cloudy during the day.

Hot weather will persist for 1 more week in Chennai
This is the southwest monsoon season in India. Southwest monsoon rains have been widespread in several states, including the Northern states in India. Usually, it rains less in Tamil Nadu during the Southwest monsoon rainy season.
