Rainfall expected for another two days
Meteorologists said that as the upper air circulation over South Tamil Nadu coast has moved westwards and lies near Lakshadweep and its neighborhood, there may be widespread rainfall over the State,

More Rains predicted today for Chennai city
Today too perfect conditions are there for City for Rains. We cant for sure predict the quantum. Yesterday models predicted 10 mm and we ended in getting 70 mm. Models and models based mobile apps should be used.

Perfect conditions for rains in the evening/night. The rains may start at isolated places in the evening and at night, it will cover most part of the city.Both ECMWF and GFS,the global numerical are in good convergence of rains today.

2016 Asia autumn forecast - Tropical cyclones to prowl Bay of Bengal
In 2015, NE Monsoon, there was not even one named cyclone in Bay of Bengal and we faced historic floods. In 2016, it will different, we are going to see many cyclones. This year our North East Monsoon (October- December 2016 rainfall).

August was the driest in the past 32 years
According to experts, Unlike the city, the southern and western pockets of the state received notable rainfall. If the city had not received its last leg of rainfall on Tuesday, August would be the driest in more than five decades.

Prospects of rain in Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours
As there is a cyclonic depression formed in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the coastal region of Kanyakumari, there are prospects of rain in many places in Northern Tamil Nadu today (Thursday, 1st September).
