Chennai Meteorological Centre has mentioned: Due to convection activities, there will be rains in the next 24 hours in South Tamil Nadu. There will also be in one or two places in North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

North east monsoon rains will commence on 25th October
Chennai Meteorological Centre has mentioned that the north east monsoon rains will commence in Tamil Nadu between 25th October and 28th October. South west monsoon has now withdrawn from Telangana.

NE monsoon to set after Diwali, low pressure moves northwards
Its so close yet so far, the Low Pressure is going to move far far away from Tamil Nadu coast as westerlies are still present and the wind pattern is still to be changed to easterlies. The Low Pressure will intensify.
