The Meteorological Centre has mentioned that a low pressure is likely to be developed near Andaman in Bay of Bengal. In spite of this, the weather will remain dry for the next three days in Tamil Nadu.

There will be rains in one or two places in the coastal southern Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours due to northeast monsoon.An official of the Meteorological Centre has mentioned: The trough which developed near Maldives.

It is informed that a new depression zone formed near Andaman is expected to intensify on 5th January and develop into a low-pressure zone.

Rains may occur over Tamil Nadu south coastal areas on account of the trough persisting over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Sri Lanka. Rest parts of South India will remain mainly dry.

A trough of low at mean sea level lies over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Sri Lanka & equatorial Indian Ocean. In view of this, rains are expected along the coastal southern regions in the next 24 hours.

Northeast monsoon is now prevailing in Tamil Nadu. At this juncture a low pressure has developed in Bay of Bengal. That is stationed there without any progress.

The Meteorological Centre has mentioned that there will be light rains in southern districts and fog in other places. It was expected that if the low pressure near Andaman intensifies, there may be rains.
