The Vardah cyclone crossed the shores near Chennai Harbour. The wrath of this cyclone uprooted more than 1 lakhs tress and majority of electric poles.

With the formation of low pressure area in Southwest Bay of Bengal, weathermen had predicted another spell of rains in Chennai. However, the weather system was not able to gather much strength and weakened.

The recent cyclonic storm Vardah gave heavy rains over the city of Chennai along with many other regions of the North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh. Wind speed of 110 kmph was recorded in Chennai.

The low pressure area over Andaman has stationed there itself. The Chennai Meteorological Centre has mentioned that due to this, there will be dry weather for the next 24 hours in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Cyclonic storm Vardah gave immense rains over several parts of the country. So much so that several parts of Peninsular India witnessed massive rains. Three-digit rainfall was recorded over Chennai during its fury.

Please dont come to conclusion seeing the clouds. Big mass of Clouds does not say whether its a Cyclone or Depression and Low pressure or Trough of Low or Upper air Circulation.
