A trough of low at mean sea level lies over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Sri Lanka & equatorial Indian Ocean. In view of this, rains are expected along the coastal southern regions in the next 24 hours.

Northeast monsoon is now prevailing in Tamil Nadu. At this juncture a low pressure has developed in Bay of Bengal. That is stationed there without any progress.

The Meteorological Centre has mentioned that there will be light rains in southern districts and fog in other places. It was expected that if the low pressure near Andaman intensifies, there may be rains.

Low pressure depression at mean sea level over Tenasarim coast and neighborhood now lies over south Andaman Sea and neighborhood. The system is likely to develop into a cyclonic circulation in the next 48 hours.

Its been a while since last update. Hope everyone is doing great and to be honest nothing significant in weather front except the cold wave. Chennai outkirts like Avadi, madhavaram are getting cold mornings close to 17 C.

The trough which developed near South Andaman is still stationary there and because of this, there will be dry weather for the next 2 days in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
