Though there was a deficit of rains in Tamil Nadu during the north east monsoon, now there are some signs of rainfall in Tamil Nadu in the next couple of days.

The northeast monsoon rain has come to an end, and there is going to be a shift in climate in the coming days. We may experience higher degrees of coldness, say meteorological sources.

The Director of the Chennai Meteorological Research Centre, Mr Balachandran, informed that the Northeast Monsoon Season comes to a close in Tamil Nadu.This year the rainfall has been lesser than the average.

The Meteorological Centre has mentioned that a low pressure is likely to be developed near Andaman in Bay of Bengal. In spite of this, the weather will remain dry for the next three days in Tamil Nadu.

There will be rains in one or two places in the coastal southern Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours due to northeast monsoon.An official of the Meteorological Centre has mentioned: The trough which developed near Maldives.

It is informed that a new depression zone formed near Andaman is expected to intensify on 5th January and develop into a low-pressure zone.

Rains may occur over Tamil Nadu south coastal areas on account of the trough persisting over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Sri Lanka. Rest parts of South India will remain mainly dry.
