The deep depression over east-central Bay of Bengal has intensified into tropical cyclone Mora. With the system still travelling in deep sea, Mora is likely to strengthen further into a severe cyclonic storm during the next 12 hours.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that due to the formation of a cyclonic phenomenon in the upper layer over the Southeast Bay of Bengal, there are prospects of rain today (Sunday, 28th May) in Tamil Nadu.

A depression zone has formed over the Southeast Bay of Bengal. This is likely to intensify in the next 48 hours. However, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are no prospects of rain in Tamil Nadu.

After long days of blistering heat and prickly weather, Chennai may now chill down for the downpour as the nature seem to have turned merciful at the city. Today, the city is likely to receive rain showers.
