Chennai rain update - Short spells of moderate rains likely most preferably in North Chennai
If Chennai has to get widespread rains like the one happened on June 6, 19 and 23rd then monsoon has to be weak. But right now, the west coast is damn wet, which means Chennai will get only weak non towering clouds.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next 24 hours due to a low-pressure zone developed and stabilised.

Light rains to take a backseat over Chennai

Good rains reported in Kanyakumari, Nilgiris & Coimbatore
Good rains have been reported in Kanyakumari after a long long break. Coimbatore Ghats and Nilgiris too have got rains. Sholayar dam has reported 30 mm and down below Periyar in Theni district has reported 21 mm.
