Atlast one band of clouds managed to breach the land barrier and expected to move along the Chennai coast, the areas which are close to sea coast will get sharp showers of 10-15 mins spells.

Heavy rains along with some isolated very heavy showers lashed Chennai in the first week of November; thereafter the weather went dry over the city. But now, Chennai rains have made a comeback.

We indeed missed heavy spell of rains yesterday night by few kms as the convergence happened just off our coast.

Most of the heavy rains fell just fell close to the sea off Chennai instead of moving inside the land. And the present cloud even though it is so big, it will start to fizzle out. Only Light rains happening inside the city as of now.

Normally a typical active spell of monsoon associated with low pressure and will last 3-4 days. Last low pressure gave rains for 9 days. Then for past 3 days we had break in rains.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are strong prospects of medium rain for the next 3 days in Tamil Nadu.

Northeast Monsoon lashed the city of Chennai and coastal stations of Tamil Nadu in the first week of November. The heavy downpour and led to waterlogging and several places. Along with the rain, strong gusty winds also accompanied.
