Chennai rains have been lashing the capital city of Tamil Nadu for the past 24 hours. So much so that three-digit rains have been witnessed over the Nungambakkam observatory of the state capital to the tune of 116 mm.

Northeast Monsoon is in its active form and has been lashing Tamil Nadu including Chennai with heavy rain. Three digit rains have been recorded at several stations of Tamil Nadu.

The district collectors of Chennai, Kanchipuram, and Thiruvallur have announced the emergency helpline numbers for giving info regarding any rain-related issues.

Chennai rains which had been on the backseat for a while have once again taken the driver seat and are on full gear right now. The Northeast Monsoon saga seems to have begun over the city of Chennai as heavy showers.

Chennai records the highest rainfall of the year and again typical rainy start expected while we go to office today. South Chennai, OMR, Tambaram belt could see heavy rains. Other parts of Chennai too will get rains.
