Back to back weather systems in Bay of Bengal has kept the Northeast Monsoon active ever since its onset. Now, another low pressure area is brewing in Bay of Bengal and will be approaching India East Coast soon.

As the low in SW bay moves into Comorin sea in a day or two most of the action will be in STN and delta belt.

The low-pressure area that was persisting over the Bay of Bengal along with a feeble cyclonic circulation has given good rains over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the past day.

Chennai rains which were on the backseat for a long time. So much so that the city had been witnessing either dry weather conditions or very light rains. The city had not witnessed any heavy rainfall since November 13.

The low pressure area formed in Bay of Bengal continues to move in westerly direction. This system has already given moderate to heavy rainfall over Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the initial days of its formation.
