Weather across Tamil Nadu has remained almost dry from the past few days. Though, isolated rains occurred at a few places. There was no significant weather activity because Northeast Monsoon remained weak.

Chennai rains have been in the back seat ever since the departure of Cyclone Ockhi. In fact, the month of December has remained a dry one for the city except for the good spell of 65 mm that occurred on December 1.

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that due to the formation of cyclonic circulation in the upper layers of the atmosphere and the low-depression zone formed, there are prospects of rain in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu.

Scattered moderate snow is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, while scattered light to moderate snow is anticipated over Himachal Pradesh and one or two places over Uttarakhand.

Ever since the beginning of December, Chennai has been witnessing absolutely dry weather conditions. Although, the city had witnessed heavy rains to the tune of 65 mm on December 1 but showers have remained absent.

Western Disturbance move from Mediterranean Sea to North India during winter. Its nothing but systems at 5 km levels above sea level.

A Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. An induced cyclonic circulation is persisting over Rajasthan and Haryana which has become less marked.
