The Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood moved likely northwards with a speed of about 20 kmph during past 6 hours and lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of today, the 07 December, 2017.

The maiden tropical storm of the season, Cyclone Ockhi kept surprising everyone right from the beginning. From the low pressure area in Bay of Bengal, which was never anticipated to be a cyclonic storm.

Depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal
The Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood moved northwestwards and the system is very likely to move northwestwards and reach Andhra Pradesh coast around 8th December evening.

Low Pressure Area over south coastal Gujarat & Neighbourhood
Cyclonic Storm over east-central Arabian Sea moved north-northeastwards, weakened into a Deep Depression in the afternoon and into a Depression during late evening of yesterday, the 5th December, 2017.

Light rains are expected over Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka on December 6 and 7. While Kerala will witness isolated showers.

Cyclone Ockhi weakens into well marked low pressure area
As anticipated Cyclone Ockhi failed to give heavy to extremely heavy rains over Gujarat as the cyclone has dissipated before reaching Gujarat coast.
