The April mid period is the peak time of heat waves hitting the regions of Tamil Nadu especially the coastal areas gets much higher reading of temperature. The readings are high in the land bound interior places of Tamil Nadu.

Rainy streak to continue in parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu
Pre-Monsoon rains have been on the poorer side as far as the entire country is concerned. The month of March was quite disappointing; however, April was still better in terms of rains. The deficiency overall, remains.

Today western interior Tamil Nadu (Nilgiris, Parts of Coimbatore, Parts of Erode, Theni) will be lighted up today by Thunderstorms with parts of Tirunelveli, Dharmpuri, parts of Krishnagiri, Salem and Namakkal joining them.

The National Marine Centre has warned that the seas and the coastal areas in Tamil Nadu will be stormy till midnight (Thursday, 26th April).

Weather: scorching heat today-cyclonic winds will blow
The Chennai Meteorological Centre has warned that the intensity of heat today (Wednesday, 25th April) will be higher by 3 Degrees Celsius in 8districts in the state of Tamil Nadu. Cyclonic winds will blow in more than 15 districts in the state.
