The director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, Puviyarasan, informed that there is a low-pressure format prevailing over the central Andaman Sea. Since there are prospects that this may intensify further into a depression zone.

Since October 28, on and off rainfall activity is going on over the capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai. In fact, during the last 24 hours also, both the observatories in Chennai recorded light rains.
