Lighthouse hours extended

The visitors’ time at the Marina lighthouse has been extended by the Directorate Lighthouses and Lightships. Now, visitors are allowed in from 10am to 1pm and 3pm to 5pm on all days but Mondays. Shipping minister G K Vasan on Wednesday said the lighthouse directorate has agreed to revise the timings to 9.30am to 6pm on weekends and holidays.
The revised schedule will apply from December 20 to January 20, and April 15, 2014 to May 31. It will be open during lunch hours as well.
