Textbooks for State Board schools from June

The Tamil Nadu Government will introduce the tri semester pattern for Class IX from this academic year. The pattern was introduced for Classes I to VIII last year to reduce the book load and stress to the student. Textbooks for the tri semester system have been published and will be available from June this year.
The books are aimed at the State Board, Matriculation and Anglo Indian Board schools across the State. As per the Samacheer Kalvi syllabus, which was started in 2011, these boards will use the same books. The schools can choose between books from approved private publishers and those printed by the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Education Services Corporation.
