With the country-wide famous and grandly celebrated �Vinayaka Chathurthi� approaching fast, the manufacture of various forms of Vinayaka idols are under production at Kumbakonam in full pitch and in full earnest! The highlight is that these idols will not harm the environment!
�Vinayaka Chathurthi� is one of the famous festivals awaited eagerly every year and celebrated in a grand manner throughout the country! It is traditional for the festival observant to make huge idols of Lord Vinayaka several feet high, place the idol in a public meeting place and pray and celebrate.
In this year 2019, Vinayaka Chathurthi falls on 2nd September. A large number of artisans from Rajasthan are quite engaged in the creation of a variety of Lord Vinayaka idols in a place called �Srinivasanallur�, located near Kumbakonam.
These idols are made with raw materials such as paste made out of paper and thicker sheets of paper, flour, and coconut fibre. This process ensures that the idols will not harm the environment and cause no pollution. Further, the paints used on the idol dissolves in water quickly and will not cause any harm to the environment and the public.
Naturally, for the grand festival of Vinayaka Chathurthi, several varieties of Lord Vinayaka idols are being made such as Bala Vinayakar (Child Lord Vinayaka), Raja Ganapathy, Mayil (peacock) Vinayakar, Annapakshi Vinayakar (Lord Vinayaka on the carriage of Swan), and white Lord Vinayaka with varying heights from 1 foot to 15 feet in eye-catching attractive colours!
These idols are sold at prices varying from Rs. 100 to Rs. 30000.
Indeed, the artisans from Rajasthan, who are working in several places all over the country, who make this idol observe that it gives them extraordinary contentment making these idols of Lord Vinayaka which cause no harms to the environment!
Thus, anyone can hardly deny the importance and significance fact that the festivals celebrated in our country, especially in Tamil Nadu, provide a livelihood for the artisans from North India
