How important is snacking?

It is important to keep practicing a few healthy rules always. This is important in maintaining your weight and losing it at the same time.
 
Choosing nutrition rich snack is the first step to take. Your food intake is of most importance. You may be ruining your intake by picking the wrong snack. In addition to being low in calorie content, your snack should also have good nutritive value. Peanuts, almonds, yogurt, etc are some of those you can munch on when you are hungry.
 
At the same time, by overdoing snacking, you tend to kill all its benefits. All its goodness and health benefits will vanish by overdoing it. Consume a handful of healthy snack. Keep in mind that your snack is not your meal. Consuming even one hand full of potato chips is a definite no.
 
You should also not starve for more time. Hence, spacing your meals and snack is imperative. It is ideal to take two such snack breaks. The first break is between breakfast and lunch and the second one should be between lunch and dinner. By eating such two snacks, you do not just keep your energy levels up, but also consume lesser meals.
