New basement parking lot in CMBT ready for inauguration

A spacious two-storey parking lot has been constructed in the basement of Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), Koyambedu. It is expected to be opened to commuters shortly. According to an official, the existing parking lot, which was opened four years ago, can accommodate only 50 cars and 2,000 bikes. The work on the new basement parking facility was started a year ago. It is more spacious and better illuminated, has reflectors and sign boards to help commuters to park. The new facility can accommodate more than 2,500 bikes and one storey is reserved exclusively for parking cars.
