Healthy food habits - a hint by nutritionists

Posted on: 16/Aug/2014 4:38:17 PM
According to nutritionists, it is necessary to have a time gap of 5 hours between lunch and dinner. In a recent event at Rajiv Gandhi Government hospital held for creating awareness about healthy food habits, nutritionists shared some important practices to follow.

According to them, non-vegetarian items contain fiber in less amount, but are rich in protein. Egg white, fish, chicken, etc can be included in our food habits, they recommend. They also say that only half a litre of oil is to be used for one individual in a month.

In addition, in case of diabetic patients, it is advisable to consume oats in ground form like Idli or Dhosai rather than having it in liquid form.

In most cases of youngsters working in night shifts, they skip morning breakfast because of overeating in night time. This stands as the underlying reason for them to become diabetic at very young age. Nutritionists recommend to take a mini tiffin after two hours of consuming lunch. They say, a gap of 5 hours is enough  between lunch and dinner time.
