Inauguration of Five Foot Over Bridges (FOB) Along with Escalators in Chennai

On Thursday, the TamilNadu chief minister J Jayalalitha started up the five foot over bridges along with the escalators in Chennai.
These over bridges have been furnished at a cost of Rs.30.8 Crores. It has been inaugurated by TamilNadu chief minister via video-conferencing from the state secretariat.
Two over bridges are located on the Grand Southern Trunk (GST) Road close to the Government hospital at MEPZ and Chromepet. The other two over bridges are situated in the IT core centers of the city namely in Perungudi and Velachery. The last one lays on the Jawaharlal Nehru Road, in the vicinity of the SBOA School in Anna Nagar.
Even though there prevails a over bridge built by the Chennai corporation along with the lifts in Nungambakkam High Road, it stays either idle or will not work for most of the time as people do not wish to linger for the lift in the course of annoying to cross the road.
In addition, the chief minister inducted a 760-meter long railing over bridge near Pattaravakkam which has been framed at a cost of Rs 36 Crores.
For these days, chief minister has been inaugurating many state highways department projects, on a whole at a cost of Rs. 191.03 Crores.
