Airfares go up as people start pre booking their trip

Posted on: 27/Feb/2017 2:31:35 PM
It looks like people have started pre-booking their journey back home and for short, relaxing trips in April and May. The rise in bookings is clear with steep increase in airfares. As colleges and schools will remain shut, in both domestic as well as international travelling, there will be concrete rise in the months April and May.

Those making advance booking for their short distance travel have benefited with cheaper fares. Train travel is now not a preferred mode for many reasons including lack of amenities and time consumed in travel. Those who have thus far been traveling in AC-3 tier and AC-2 tier have now switched to airways travel.

However, reservation of berths in AC coaches in most commonly used Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Madurai trains are already in waiting list.

There are only a few seats left for the price Rs 2000 to Rs 2500 between Chennai and Madurai, Chennai and Bengaluru and Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram. For full service carriers, the fare has touched Rs 5000 to Rs 6000. If booked on week in advance and that too during non-peak season, the one-way fare will be available at Rs 2800 to Rs 3500.
