Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Thunderstorms and Moderate Rain Likely in Several Districts
The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning across parts of Tamil Nadu due to a lower-level atmospheric cyclonic circulation over the Kumari Sea and adjoining areas.
According to the weather department, from Tuesday (January 13) to January 18, rainfall activity is expected at a few places in South Tamil Nadu, isolated locations in North Tamil Nadu, and across Puducherry and Karaikal.
The Chennai city and suburban areas are likely to experience partly cloudy skies during this period.

Moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely in the following districts:
Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Kallakurichi, Karur, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Tiruchirappalli, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, and Karaikal.
