Temporary Changes in Chennai Metro Green Line Services from September 15 to 19
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced temporary changes in train operations on the Green Line due to Phase–2 construction works above Vadapalani Metro Station. The modifications will be in place from September 15 (Monday) to September 19 (Friday), 2025, only between 5:00 am and 6:00 am.
- Blue Line Services (Wimco Nagar to Airport via AG-DMS) will remain unaffected.
- Green Line Adjustments (between 5:00 am and 6:00 am only):
- Metro trains will operate at a 14-minute frequency between St. Thomas Mount – Ashok Nagar and Airport – Ashok Nagar.
Metro trains will run at a 7-minute frequency between Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Metro – Koyambedu.
- No train service will be available between Koyambedu – Ashok Nagar during this one-hour period.
- To assist passengers, dedicated feeder services will run every 10 minutes between Koyambedu and Ashok Nagar.
After 6:00 am, the regular weekday, Saturday, and Sunday schedules will resume on both Green and Blue Lines.
CMRL has requested passengers’ cooperation and expressed regret for the inconvenience, stating that these adjustments are necessary to ensure smooth progress of Phase–2 construction works.
