Chennai EMU Train Services: Southern Railway Announces Cancellations and Changes on September 17, 18

Southern Railway has announced changes to EMU train services between Chennai Beach and Tambaram, with four trains fully cancelled on September 17 (Thursday) due to operational reasons.

In addition, two MEMU services will be partially cancelled between Villupuram and Tindivanam on September 17 and 18 due to a Line Block/Power Block permitted in the Egmore–Villupuram section at Perani Yard.

Chennai Beach–Tambaram EMU Trains Fully Cancelled

The following four local train services will remain fully cancelled on September 17:

Train No. 40040: Tambaram–Beach local, departing Tambaram at 11:00 am

Train No. 40041: Beach–Tambaram local, departing Beach at 11:50 am

Train No. 40050: Tambaram–Beach local, departing Tambaram at 1:50 pm

Train No. 40051: Beach–Tambaram local, departing Beach at 1:25 pm

Villupuram–Tindivanam Services Partially Cancelled

Southern Railway has also announced changes to train services because of a two-hour Line Block/Power Block from 1 pm to 3 pm on September 17 and 18 between Tindivanam and Villupuram stations.

As a result, the following MEMU services will be partially cancelled between Villupuram and Tindivanam on both days:

Train No. 66045: Tambaram–Villupuram MEMU, departing Tambaram at 9:45 am

Train No. 66046: Villupuram–Beach MEMU, departing Villupuram at 1:30 pm

Passengers travelling on these routes are advised to check the latest train service information before beginning their journey and make alternative travel arrangements if required.
