Chennai - Bengaluru Bullet Train Project Enters Next Phase

The proposed Chennai to Bengaluru Bullet Train project has entered its next phase, with the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) issuing a fresh tender to update the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and conduct new engineering surveys.

The 306.2 km Chennai to Bengaluru corridor will continue to include stations at Chennai, Poonamallee, and Parandur in Tamil Nadu, along with stations in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Despite the proposed Parandur Greenfield Airport being shelved, the Parandur bullet train station remains part of the plan.

The updated work includes alignment review, drone and LiDAR surveys, geotechnical investigations, tunnel studies, river crossing assessments, station surveys, and revised land acquisition plans. The DPR update and surveys are expected to be completed within 150 days.
