The iconic Victoria Public Hall, a historic landmark of Chennai, has been restored without altering its heritage character and was officially inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on December 23, 2025.
The Greater Chennai Corporation has now announced that the public can visit the Victoria Public Hall by registering online through the official Chennai Corporation website.
Visiting Hours & Time Slots
The hall will be open daily from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with six viewing slots:
8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
Visitors must book their slot online in advance to enter the premises.
Entry Fee Details
Indian citizens: ₹25
Students: ₹10 (valid ID required)
Senior citizens: ₹10
Foreign tourists: ₹50
Free Entry:
- Children below 10 years
- Government and Chennai Corporation school students (with prior email booking through schools)
- Persons with disabilities
Hall Rental Charges
The Chennai Corporation has also released rental tariff details for hosting events:
Main Hall (Education / Government / Local Artists / Book Releases / Heritage Events / Debates):
- ₹50,000 per day + electricity charges
- Includes stage, green room, VIP room, basic lighting & sound
- Security deposit: ₹25,000
Main Hall (International / Commercial / Film Events):
- ₹1,00,000 per day + electricity charges
- Includes stage, green room, VIP room, basic lighting & sound
- Security deposit: ₹50,000
Open-Air Amphitheatre:
- ₹10,000 per day + electricity charges
