The State Examination Board of Tamil Nadu is to be completely computerised at a cost of Rs. 2.71 Crores. With the developed computer facilities, the private candidates can apply for writing SSLC and Public Examinations from wherever they are.

A higher level official from the state examination board explained that apart from the private candidates for SSLC and +2, the private candidates for middle-level teachers training and candidates applying for technical examinations can also avail this facility.

Presently, around 1 lakh candidates write the SSLC and +2 Public examinations. So, the above new facility would be extremely useful to them. The students from the school completing their school education apply through the respective headmasters online.

The headmasters pay the examination fee through a Demand Draft. Once the examination board is completely computerised, the examination fee can also be paid online by the headmasters.

It is worth noting that the State Examination Board introduced only recently the facility to check and verify the genuineness of the SSLC and +2 certificates. With this facility, the respective Primary Education Officers in each district can access and verify the above by using the exclusive UserID and password given to them.
